Facility Description: Located in the
north side Chicago suburb of Glenview, The Glen Club is a
world-class daily fee golf club with corporate members. The
facility includes a Top-100 Tom Fazio designed golf course and a
50,000 square foot clubhouse that houses a golf shop, locker
rooms, a full-service restaurant and overnight guest
accommodations. Additionally, there are five distinct spaces
where corporate and social events are held.
Position Summary: This position is
responsible for assisting with the implementation of the Club
marketing plan focusing on strategies designed to increase
membership, catering and golf revenues. Primary responsibilities
include assisting with sales solicitation, direct marketing
communications, emarketing communications, database management,
social networking, and special event promotions. Additional
responsibilities include assistance with administrative tasks.
Major Duties:
- Create prospect lists and conduct research calls to
generate sales leads
- Identify lead sources, qualify leads and follow up
to leads
- Research competition and current market conditions on a
continuing basis
- Take detailed messages for Directors and make
appointments as needed
- Assist with maintaining both hard copy and electronic
client databases
- Update facility websites and send electronic newsletters
as needed
- Provide support on all administrative duties such as
sales contracts, event orders, filing, data entry, updating
reporting tools and direct mail fulfillments, etc.
- Provide site tours to prospective clients
- Assist with management of social networking sites such
as Twitter, Facebook, etc.
- Monitor social networks for public opinion and feedback
- Attend weekly meetings and perform other duties as
appropriate
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications,
Hospitality or Marketing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years applicable sales experience
preferably in the golf or hospitality industry
- Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and
interpersonal communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and
PowerPoint
- Salesforce.com or other CRM experience is a plus
- Solid organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to efficiently navigate the web and manage
electronic files
- Ability to analyze and solve problems and efficiently
handle multiple duties under
pressure
- Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in
all situations
- Willingness to work holidays and weekends as needed
